Wide, short, funnel-shaped neck widening towards the spout. Spout wide, flat in the upper part, slightly rounded at the bottom, slightly asymmetrical. Bottom slightly convex, asymmetrical. Surface even. Lower part worked to approximately 2/3 of its height with a knife or similar tool. Outer surface and inner surface of rim and neck covered with a layer of dark red engobe. Vessel color dark red. Vessel complete; surface eroded in many places, numerous clay chips on the rim. Ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel height 16.7 cm; rim diameter 9.5 cm; body diameter 13 cm; bottom diameter 8.1 cm. References: Reisner, Mycerinus, p. 219, types XIX and XX, fig. 69., A single rounded ceramic vessel with a flared rim and narrow neck sits against a plain background; the surface shows worn patches and speckled areas with a textured, slightly uneven finish. The visible colors are reddish-brown on the body with lighter beige spots from wear and small darker flecks scattered across the surface, and the background is a neutral light gray.
