Medum-type bowl, Egyptian pottery, Medum-type bowl, clay vessel with hemispherical shape narrowing just below the rim to form a carination; rounded bottom and a straight, slightly widening spout whose diameter is slightly larger than the shoulders. Surface even, covered with red engobe and polished. Vessel color: red. Fairly well preserved with minor losses on the rim. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel; height 7 cm, diameter 26.4 cm spout, weight 0.90 kg., A shallow, rounded clay bowl with a smooth rim rests on a clear cylindrical stand against a plain background. The bowl is terracotta in color with visible lighter and darker patches and small surface abrasions and scuffs. The rim shows slight irregularities and a small nick. The stand is transparent and colorless, and the background and surface beneath the bowl are shades of gray.
