Medum-type bowl, Egyptian pottery, Medum-type bowl, clay vessel. Bowl with a hemispherical shape narrowing just below the rim to form a carination; rounded bottom and straight, slightly widening spout whose diameter is slightly larger than that of the shoulders. Surface even, covered with a red engobe and polished; vessel color red. Fairly well preserved with minor losses on the rim. Circa 2494–2181 BC, Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel; height 7 cm, spout diameter 26.4 cm, weight 0.90 kg., A shallow rounded bowl displayed on a short transparent stand, with a smooth matte surface in shades of terracotta and reddish-brown, showing subtle wear marks and lighter scratches; the background and surface beneath are shades of gray and muted bluish-gray.
