Medum-type bowl, Egyptian pottery, Medum-type bowls. Clay vessel with hemispherical shape narrowing just below the rim to form a carination; rounded bottom; straight, slightly widening spout whose diameter is slightly larger than the shoulders. Surface even, covered with red engobe and polished. Vessel color: red. Fairly well preserved with minor losses on the rim. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel; height 7 cm; diameter 26.4 cm spout; weight 0.90 kg., A shallow round dish with a raised rim in terracotta red, showing a smooth matte surface with areas of lighter wear and small dark spots, set against a cool gray background.
