Bowl base. Base for a vessel with an almost equal diameter of both rims; both rims are irregular with a wavy line. The center of the base is empty. The narrowest part of the base is approximately 2/3 of the height of the entire vessel. Made of Nile clay NB1; surface leveled, covered with an engobe and then polished. Vessel color: red. Complete vessel, very well preserved. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel; top diameter 17.5 cm, bottom diameter 18 cm, height 25.6 cm, weight 1.30 kg., A terracotta-colored ceramic object composed of a shallow, wide bowl perched on a flared pedestal; the bowl has a smooth rim and shows a few surface imperfections and texture variations, while the pedestal narrows toward the center and broadens at the base into a circular foot. The background is a smooth gray with subtle gradient shading.
