Portrait of a princess from the Julio-Claudian dynasty Julia?, unknown Roman workshop. The bust depicts a girl with a round, rather chubby face, turned slightly to the right; a rounded, elongated chin, and small, slightly pursed lips with a pronounced, wavy line of the upper lip. The almond-shaped, smooth eyes are rather shallowly set, with marked upper eyelids and barely visible eyebrows. The ears are carefully styled. The wavy hair is combed up and tied with a headband. At the back of the head, it is tied in a bun and a braid that falls down the middle of the head onto the smooth forehead. End of the 1st century BC–beginning of the 1st century AD, Roman Empire 27 BC–476. Sculpture. Height 25.7 cm, width 16 cm, depth 12.5 cm, weight 11.5 kg., The image shows a marble bust of a young person in profile against a solid gray background; the sculpture displays a smooth pale off-white surface with subtle beige and yellowish discolorations, carved wavy hair pulled back into a bun and held by a band, a well-defined ear, forehead, nose, lips, and chin, and a broken or unfinished neck leading to a polished pedestal with rounded and rectangular elements that share the same off-white and beige tones.
