Portrait of a princess from the Julio-Claudian dynasty Julia?, unknown Roman workshop. The bust depicts a girl with a round, rather chubby face, turned slightly to the right; a rounded, elongated chin, and small, slightly pursed lips with a pronounced, wavy line of the upper lip. The almond-shaped, smooth eyes are rather shallowly set, with marked upper eyelids and barely visible eyebrows. The ears are carefully styled. The wavy hair is combed up and tied with a headband; at the back of the head it is tied in a bun with a braid that falls down the middle of the head onto the smooth forehead. End of the 1st century BC–beginning of the 1st century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476. Sculpture; height 25.7 cm, width 16 cm, depth 12.5 cm, weight 11.5 kg., The image shows a marble bust of a young person with short, wavy hair held back by a band, styled with a small curl at the forehead; the face is turned slightly to one side with a neutral expression, visible ears, and smooth cheeks. The bust includes the upper chest and rests on a carved marble pedestal with rounded molding and decorative relief. The visible colors are white and off-white tones of the marble, with subtle beige and light gray areas and a solid medium-gray background.
