Figurine of the god Osiris, Osiris mythology; statuette of a standing Osiris wrapped in a long, tight-fitting robe forming a characteristic rounding at the back of the shoulders. On the head is an atef crown with horns and a uraeus. The feet rest on a rectangular hollow base with a tenon for seating on the base. The four sides of the base are covered with a hieroglyphic inscription in two lines. 664–525 BC; Late Period, 26th Dynasty, Egypt. Figurine; height 31.5 cm, width 9.4 cm., A dark metallic small statue of a standing human figure with a tall ornate headdress and a false beard, shown against a plain gray background; the figure wears a detailed broad collar and holds a curved staff across its body, with hands clasping the staff; the surface shows a glossy dark brown to black patina with areas of greenish corrosion and lighter worn highlights; the figure stands on a rectangular base that shares the same dark metallic color and slightly textured surface.
