Snake-headed fibula, unknown Southern Italian workshop. Fibula with an arched, thick hoop. The hoop is terminated on one side with an imitation spiral, and on the other side connected to the rectangular wall of the sheath, bent at the bottom. A cylindrical leg extends from the sheath, bent towards the hoop, ending with a snake's head. The hoop is decorated with numerous longitudinally engraved lines. Condition: corrosion, missing needle. 5th–4th century BC, Southern Italy. Materials: silver. Subject/iconography: snake., A close-up of a small metallic object with a vertical ribbed surface and a rounded end, shown against a plain light gray background; the metal appears silver-gray with darker gray areas and a small patch of brownish rust or corrosion near one end, and there are a few curved ridges at the lower end of the piece.
