Fragment of the spout and stamped vise of a Sinopean amphora. The spout is a low, semicircular cylinder; the vise is oval in cross-section. On its upper surface is a partially impressed stamp of the astynomas Femios, son of Theopeithos. The first line of the legend the astynomas' titulary is missing; the second and third lines contain the astynomas' name and patronymic. To the right of the legend is an emblem showing a man trampling grapes placed in a basket. 2nd half of the 3rd century BC. Sinope origin. Height 7.9 cm; width 10.7 cm., A fragment of a textured terracotta object rests on a smooth surface, showing a curved rim and a thicker cylindrical section with worn edges; the object is a light brown to beige color with small darker speckles, and it casts a soft shadow on the surface; the background and surface are shades of gray and darker gray.
