Cow astragal condylo-talus bone from a cow, with a regular hole drilled in the center., Myrmekion Crimea, Hellenistic period, 332–30 BC. Bone; natural product. Height 4.2 cm., A dark, irregularly shaped object with a rough, cracked surface sits against a plain light gray background, showing textured areas in shades of black, dark gray, and brown with lighter gray and tan patches; the object has an uneven top rim forming a hollow, rounded interior and a bulbous base with several indentations and rough protrusions, and its surface displays flaky, weathered patterns and some smoother worn sections.
