Fragment of a vice from a Sinopean transport amphora with a rectangular four-line stamp: astynomenic title on the first line; astynomeus' name and patronymic Posis, son of Stratonikos on the second and third lines; the fourth line name of the amphora's manufacturer not impressed. To the right of the legend, at the height of the second and third lines, an emblem in the form of a helmeted head of Athena. Inscription reading Made when Posios son of Stratonicus was astynomeus. Dating: 320–300 BC previously dated ca. 150–100 BC. Excavated at Myrmekion Crimea; Sinopean origin. Stamp; fragment dimensions: height 7.2 cm, width 6 cm, depth 2.3 cm., A fragment of a ceramic object with a rough, porous surface visible against a neutral gray background, showing a warm beige to light tan body with darker speckles and small inclusions throughout, a rim area with a slightly pinkish-orange inner surface and a rough, crumbling edge that has patches of pale yellow and off-white, and a broken end revealing a coarse, grainy interior that is lighter and more grayish than the outer surfaces.
