Fragment of a stamp from a Sinopean transport amphora with the stamp of the astynomeus Posis, son of Stratonikos. Rectangular four-line stamp; the last line is not impressed. First line contains the astynomenic title; second and third lines contain the astynomeus' name and patronymic; the fourth line contained the amphora manufacturer's name. To the right of the legend, at the height of the second and third lines, is an emblem in the form of a helmeted head of Athena. Inscription reading Made when Posios son of Stratonicus was astynomeus. Dated 320–300 BC previously dated ca. 150–100 BC. Provenance: Sinope origin; Myrmekion finding. Stamp fragment vice. Dimensions: height 7.2 cm, width 6 cm, depth 2.3 cm., A fragment of a rough, porous object in shades of light brown and tan with darker speckles sits against a neutral gray background; the surface shows an indented rectangular area with carved grooves and shallow depressions, and the edges are irregular and broken, revealing textured, grainy interiors and small dark inclusions, with subtle variations of beige, sandy brown, and occasional black flecks across the piece.
