On the head with a lush mane of hair is a wreath, and above it a fragmentarily preserved and unidentified decoration. Fairly good level of workmanship. 2nd half of the 2nd century BC. Myrmekion place of discovery, Amissos place of origin? . Mask, height 7 cm., A fragment of a carved stone face with a textured, uneven surface, showing sculpted hair, eyebrows, eyes, a nose, and the suggestion of a beard or lower facial features; the stone displays a range of warm reddish-brown and terracotta tones with areas of lighter beige and some darker brown patches, set against a neutral light gray background.
