Figurine of a maenad, ca. 3rd–2nd century BC. A young woman standing in a wreath tied with a ribbon is dressed in a chiton slipped from her right shoulder exposing her right breast and upper arm, and a cloak that envelops her hands. The left hand rests on her hip; the right leg is pushed back. The robe is light pink with a wide border at the bottom and a narrow beetroot-colored stripe above it; a similar wide border runs around the cloak. The back of the figurine is unfinished and it has no base. Provenance: Myrina. Terracotta figurine; height 26.5 cm, width 9.2 cm, depth 7.4 cm, weight 0.39 kg., A standing statue of a robed female figure with a braided or coiled hairstyle, rendered in a weathered pale stone with visible areas of faded red paint on the drapery and trim; the figure wears a long, pleated dress with a draped shawl or cloak over one shoulder, one arm bent behind the back and the other hand holding a fold of fabric; the face is worn with a neutral expression, the surface shows age-related pitting and discoloration in tones of beige, cream, and gray, with patches of reddish-brown pigment on the folds and base; the sculpture stands on a flat base against a plain gray background.
