Portrait of a Roman woman, Head with a broad face and an elaborate hairstyle: hair twisted into small curls marked with a gimlet; the rest gathered at the back in a small bun. Round, full face, with a triangular forehead. Female portrait, Roman sculpture, hairstyle, masterpiece. Date: 82–92 CE, place of origin possibly Rome, Roman Empire 27 BC–476. Marble sculpture; height 30.5 cm, width 27 cm, depth 25 cm, weight 36.5 kg., A white marble sculpted head in profile mounted on a rectangular pale beige stone base, shown against a solid dark gray background; the head features textured hair with a perforated curl at the front and a braided or patterned section toward the back, a smooth facial surface with a defined nose, lips, ear, and jawline, and some rougher damaged areas on the lower neck, with small brownish discolorations on parts of the marble.
