Red-figure hydria with a combat scene of two naked hoplite warriors fighting with long spears. They wear pointed helmets, hold round convex shields in their left hands, and wear greaves; weaponry painted white with yellow retouching. Attributed to the Laghetto-Caivano Group, Duel Painter c. 340–320 / 340–330 BC. Ca. 340–320 BC, Campania. Hydria vessel. Height 22.5 cm; width 15.6 cm; depth 13.3 cm; weight 0.612 kg., A ceramic vessel with a rounded body, narrow neck, and a flared rim with a single handle rising from the shoulder to the rim; the vessel is primarily black with a few worn areas showing a pale orange clay color and some lighter beige patches, and it features a decorative band of pale orange wavy motifs near the lower shoulder and a partial figure in pale orange on one side; the rim has a repeated pale orange circular pattern on its outer face, and the foot and base show worn golden-brown and beige areas.
