Hydria decorated with a combat scene of two naked hoplite warriors fighting with long spears; they wear pointed helmets, hold round convex shields in their left hands, and wear greaves. Weaponry painted white with yellow retouching. Ca. 340–320 BC, Campania. Hydria vessel. Height 22.5 cm, width 15.6 cm, depth 13.3 cm, weight 0.612 kg., A black pottery vessel with a rounded body, narrow neck, and flared rim, decorated with a band of pale orange ornamental motifs around the rim and shoulder and a wavy pale orange band around the upper body; a pair of stylized human figures in pale orange are depicted on the main body, facing each other and holding round shields and spears, with simple limb and torso detailing; the vessel has a pair of small loop handles on the shoulder, a slightly raised foot with worn gilded tones, and visible areas of surface wear and patches where the pale orange decoration and black surface have aged; the predominant colors visible are black, pale orange, and traces of gold and gray.
