Vessel with a belly in the shape of a satyr's head, unknown Pergamon workshop. A flat-bottomed vessel with a plastic belly in the shape of a Silenus's head, a funnel-shaped spout, and a vertical ribbon handle curved into a circle. The Silenus's head has horse ears and an ivy wreath with flowers above the forehead. The face has a low, wavy cola, small eyes with thin, slender eyelids and marked irises and pupils, a short, broad nose, chubby cheeks, and a narrow, closed mouth. A significant part of the face is covered by a beard and mustache, parted in the middle and arranged in twisted locks with curled ends. Orange clay, 2nd century, Pergamon; vessel. Height 13.6 cm, width 9.6 cm, depth 10.5 cm, weight 0.246 kg., A terracotta vessel shaped like a stylized human head with a pronounced brow, deep-set round eyes, a broad nose, and a full curled beard; the surface shows textured sculpted details and worn areas. The object sits on a flat surface and casts a soft shadow. The background is a smooth neutral gray. Visible colors include warm tan and light brown on the vessel, muted gray in the background, and a subtle darker gray in the shadow.
