Pyxis with a lid, unknown Boeotian workshop. Pyksis with a lid with a high handle. Cylindrical body with slightly concave walls. Decorated with a plant motif. Set on three legs. Sharp edge above the leg. Bottom decorated with a black circle, with a varnish stain in the central part. Technology: visible traces of turning, good quality glossy varnish, cleaned clay. Notes: reconstructed artefact, large part of the rim and body of the vessel and lid, plaster additions. Maker attribution/author unknown. 2nd half of the 4th century BC, Boeotia. Type: pyxis vessel. Weight 0.950 kg., A ceramic lidded vessel with a rounded base and a tall urn-like top, shown against a plain gray background, featuring a beige or light tan body decorated with black painted ornamental patterns including repeated curved and feather-like motifs, bands, and triangular shapes; the lid has concentric horizontal ridges and dotted and striped black accents, and the base shows chipped areas and wear with some missing fragments, while the overall piece displays alternating beige and black coloration with visible aged surface texture.
