Jug, Cypriot pottery, Base Ring Ware I. Jug with an echinus-shaped foot; a biconical, slightly rounded belly; a high narrow neck terminating in a funnel-shaped, flared spout. The neck is set at a slight inclination from the plane of the foot. A ribbon-shaped handle is mounted two-thirds up the neck and attached to the body; at the neck it merges into a double applied ring surrounding the neck. Pinkish clay with a brown surface, in places fading to a brick-red hue. Surface heavily rubbed with slight loss of the rings on the neck. 1600–1450 BC, Cyprus. Vessel; height 12.3 cm, diameter 6.7 cm., A worn, rounded ceramic vessel with a narrow neck and a flared rim, featuring a single curved handle connecting the neck and shoulder; the surface shows a mottled, rough texture with patches of earthy brown and muted tan, along with areas of darker brown and gray; the background is a uniform light gray.
