Idol head, unknown Syrian workshop, terracotta, idols, Northwestern Syria. Male head in a conical headdress, rounded at the tip. Flattened, triangular nose, protruding forward. Eyes and ears traces preserved made of glued tablets with a hole drilled in the center. A narrow strip of clay is glued above the forehead. 1st half of the 2nd millennium BC, Orontes Region. Figurine, height 4.5 cm, width 2.5 cm., A close-up of a small sculpted head made of a rough, beige-brown material with weathered texture and irregular surface spots; the head has a pointed top, deep rounded eye sockets set into a pronounced brow ridge, and a long nose extending down toward a small mouth area; the surface shows darker brown and grayish discolorations and patches of lighter beige; the object is mounted on a clear stand against a plain gray background.
