Javelin head, unknown Near Eastern workshop. Flat spearhead with a lanceolate leaf, with a poorly defined rib of rectangular cross-section, passing at the base into a round socket, which passes into an equally long, tapering, lath-like spike of rectangular cross-section. Weapon; militaria; ranged weapon; material culture. 9th–6th century BC end of the 2nd millennium–first half of the 1st millennium BC; Iron Period. Near East; Luristan. Height 17.4 cm, width 2.3 cm, depth 0.7 cm., A long metallic spearhead with a pointed leaf-shaped blade and a narrow socketed shaft, showing a dark greenish-black patina with areas of lighter green and brownish discoloration, visible surface pitting and rough texture, a central shallow ridge running along the blade, and the shaft tapering into a cylindrical tang against a plain light gray background.
