Javelin head, unknown Near Eastern workshop. Flat spearhead with a lanceolate leaf, with a poorly defined rib of rectangular cross-section, passing at the base into a round socket, which passes into an equally long, tapering, lath-like spike of rectangular cross-section. Possibly Luristan, Near East; 9th–6th century BC end of the 2nd millennium–first half of the 1st millennium BC; Iron Period. Weapon ranged weapon, militaria, material: bronze Luristan bronzes?. Dimensions: height 17.4 cm; width 2.3 cm; depth 0.7 cm., A single elongated metal object with a pointed, leaf-shaped blade that tapers into a narrow cylindrical shaft; the surface of the blade and shaft appears textured and slightly irregular with visible wear. The object shows dark colors including black and deep green with subtle variations and mottling, and it rests against a plain light gray background.
