Cypriot gourd jug, Cypriot pottery, Cypriot Bichrome Ware III. A small vessel with a barrel-shaped gourd-shaped body, without a foot, with a spherical bottom. The center is marked with a small protruding point on both short sides. A single handle on the long side, mounted at the greatest bulge of the body and at the base of the neck, bent at a right angle. Quite long neck, strongly flaring, conical spout. Neck and handle slightly offset from the vessel axis; the handle is mounted at a slight angle, with a very clear trace of finger pressure on the right side where it is attached to the neck. Reddish-brown clay. Yellowish-brown engobe. Decoration in black-brown and matte red. The rim is decorated externally with a wide matte red band. The body is decorated on both sides with two groups of three concentric black-brown lines, of varying widths and spacing. Cypro-Geometric Period III, Cyprus, vessel., A rounded ceramic jug with a long narrow neck and a flared rim is shown against a plain gray background; the jug is primarily beige with weathered, mottled surfaces and areas of darker brown and gray; a handle connects the neck to the shoulder and shows similar beige and brown tones; the body features painted concentric circular bands and stripe motifs in dark gray or black around the sides; the rim has a darker brown band while the interior of the neck appears lighter beige with some darker discoloration; the surface shows worn spots and small chips with subtle variations of beige, brown, gray, and a small area of faint red-orange.
