Tombstone, unknown Roman workshop; 2nd half of the 1st–1st half of the 2nd century; Rome findspot; slab, height 34 cm, width 21 cm, depth 5 cm, weight 10 kg., A rectangular carved stone slab with a rounded top featuring a relief of a bird with outstretched wings, flanked by carved leaf-like motifs at the upper corners; the slab is pale beige to off-white with areas of darker beige and light brown weathering, and shows incised rectangular framing and a recessed panel below the bird containing multiple rows of carved depressions; the surface has chisel marks, slight chips and worn edges, and a rougher base with some irregularities.
