Slab with a Latin votive inscription for Fortuna Conservatrix. Limestone slab with a smoothed front surface and sides, and a rather irregular back; upper left corner missing. Carved inscription in 5 lines on the front; letters were at one point turn of the 19th–20th centuries highlighted with red paint two types: a darker paint in most letters and a lighter, very thick paint in the letter E in the second line. Inscription names Caius Iulius Maianus 2nd–3rd century. Subject: Fortuna mythology; related to baths, centurions, Roman legions, and Germania Superior province. Votive slab, dimensions: width 33 cm, height 18 cm, thickness 6 cm. Date: 130–259/260., A rectangular stone slab with a rough, weathered surface sits against a plain gray background, showing beige and light brown tones with patches of darker brown and subtle reddish areas; the top face has carved grooves filled with a muted red pigment that follow linear patterns, and there is a thin dark streak along one of the slab's long edges; the slab's sides reveal a porous, grainy texture and irregular chipped edges, and the lighting casts soft shadows that emphasize the raised and recessed surfaces.
