Slab with a Latin votive inscription for Fortuna Conservatrix, Caius Iulius Maianus 2nd–3rd century commissioner, Fortuna mythology, Latin inscriptions, baths, centurions, Germania Superior province, Roman legions. Limestone slab with a smoothed front surface and sides and an irregular back; upper left corner missing. Front surface carved with a 5-line inscription; letters were at one point painted red two paints used: a darker in most letters and a lighter, very thick paint in the letter E in line 2. Dated 130–259/260. Slab, votive inscription; width 33 cm, height 18 cm, thickness 6 cm., A rectangular stone slab with a rough, slightly chipped edge and a weathered surface sits against a plain gray background; the stone is pale beige with areas of darker beige and faint brownish spots, and it has carved grooves filled with a muted reddish pigment that form linear shapes across the surface; the carving appears arranged in several horizontal bands, with some letters showing wear and shallow pitting in the stone, and the overall texture is grainy and uneven with small holes and surface irregularities.
