Figurine of Sylvanus in goat skin, with a pine wreath and a pine branch in his hand, figurines from a mold, Silvanus myth., 2nd century, Gaul France, figurine; height 23 cm, width 10 cm, depth 7.3 cm, weight 1.474 kg, A small sculpted figure mounted on a rectangular base, shown full-length from front; the figure appears to be a standing male with long hair and a beard, wearing a draped cloak that covers one shoulder and falls to mid-thigh, with a rolled or folded section near the neckline; one arm is bent and holds a rounded object against the chest while the other arm is partly obscured by the cloak and has an open hollow at the shoulder; the surface of the figure has a dark metallic patina with areas of lighter worn highlights in brownish and gray tones and patches of darker almost black coloration; the base is a plain block with a dark brown to black finish and visible small marks and tiny holes on its sides; the background is a uniform light gray.
