Ushabti, Mummy-shaped figurine, standing on a base with a narrow, slightly convex pillar at the back. Arms crossed high on the chest, right folded over left. Left hand holds a pickaxe, right a mattock, with a twisted rope passed over the left shoulder; a bag is on the back at the end of the rope. Wears a smooth, three-part wig and a long straight beard. Facial details poorly legible. Not inscribed. Ptolemaic Period, 332–30 BC; Egypt. Height 12.1 cm., A single elongated statuette in shades of turquoise and light blue with areas of pale tan where the surface is worn, showing a humanlike figure with a rounded head and simplified facial features, a suggestion of hair or head covering, crossed arms over the chest, a narrow tapering lower body, and a small flared base, all set against a solid medium gray background.
