Shabti, Mummy-shaped figurine, funerary offering, supported on a pillar at the back. Legs missing. Arms crossed on the chest, right folded over left. In the right hand is a hoe, in the left a pickaxe. On the back is a bag slung on a string over the left shoulder. Convex tools. On the head is a long, smooth, tripartite wig. Long, straight beard braided. Not inscribed. 664–332 BC Late Period, Egypt. Shabti, height 5.2 cm., A small sculpted figurine of a human-like figure shown against a plain gray background, rendered in a vibrant blue with areas of lighter blue and small patches of darker blue and greenish discoloration, the figure has a rounded head with simplified facial features and a narrow beard-like projection, shoulders and torso suggested with smoothed, flowing contours and a few subtle ridges, surface appears glossy and slightly pitted with some worn spots and a chipped lower edge revealing a lighter interior.
