Shabti, mummy-shaped figurine, funerary offering. Mummy-shaped figurine supported at the back on a pillar. Legs missing from the knees down. Arms crossed on the chest, right folded over left. In the right hand is a mattock, in the left an axe. On the back is a bag slung on a string over the left shoulder. Convex tools. On the head is a smooth, tripartite wig and a long, straight beard. Not inscribed. 664–332 BC, Late Period, Egypt. Shabti; height 6 cm., A small sculpted figure rendered in shades of blue and turquoise with a glossy surface, shown in profile against a plain gray background; the figure has a rounded head with darker blue on top and lighter turquoise on the face and body, a suggestion of a draped garment with smoother darker blue along the shoulders, and a narrow elongated lower portion with areas of mottled lighter and darker blue and some pale, slightly rough edges.
