Southern Italy; plate vessel; weight 0.488 kg., A shallow round ceramic dish on a short pedestal, painted with a central fish motif and surrounding wave-like border; the dish shows areas of worn glaze and paint. The visible colors include beige, black, brown, and tan, with darker black used for the fish shapes and border patterns and lighter beige and tan for the background and pedestal, and some brownish aging marks.
