Fragment of a shabti. Mummy-shaped figurine, grave good, preserved to the beginning of the thighs. Upper part of a shabti figurine with a smooth tripartite wig, holding hoes, and a back pillar; facial features are carelessly rendered. Celadon glaze. Ptolemaic Period, 332–30 BC; from El-Kantara. Shabti, height 7.8 cm., A slender vertical figurine viewed in profile against a solid gray background, with a rounded head and a tapered torso that shows surface irregularities and small dents; the upper portion of the figure has a greenish-blue patina with areas of lighter green and pale blue, while the lower portion is a warm brown with smoother texture and remnants of a lighter beige base at the bottom; overall the object shows seams and cracks where the colors meet and a subtle contrast between the cool green-blue and the warm brown and beige tones.
