Fragment of a bucchero nero bowl. Bucchero nero; ancient Etruscan vessel, 6th–5th century BC Archaic period. Fragment with a flat bowl and a ring-shaped stem. On the inside of the bowl is scratched the Etruscan letter kh. On the bottom is engraved the complete Etruscan alphabet. Origin: Etruria. Vessel fragment. Height 2.2 cm; width 10.5 cm., A roughly circular stone object with an irregular outer edge rests on a plain gray background; the stone shows a recessed central basin with a raised rim and worn, rough surfaces, and the interior of the basin has visible scratches and incised lines forming a pattern; the stone displays a palette of gray tones with areas of darker charcoal gray, lighter gray, and patches of beige and brown on the fractured outer edges.
