Fragments of wall decoration from the mastaba of the dignitary Tepemankh. Scenes of boat building and bringing funerary offerings. Old Kingdom, 5th Dynasty, reign of Niuserre c. 2445–2421 BC. Abusir. Bas-relief; height 26 cm, width 302 cm, depth 16 cm, weight 140 kg. Includes depictions of sacrificial artists, scribes, shipwright; funerary/sepulchral architecture; inscriptions naming Niuserre and Tepemankh., A rectangular stone relief with worn carved figures and a rough textured surface, showing a horizontal composition of reclining and standing human-like forms rendered in shallow incisions and low relief; the stone displays areas of smooth carving and pitted erosion, with visible remnants of painted areas in shades of red and brown, and traces of darker gray and black along a horizontal band; the overall stone color is off-white to beige with spots of darker discoloration and weathering, and the background behind the relief is a uniform medium gray.
