Epitaph of Gennadii; inscriptions; Greek inscriptions; tombstone; fine-crystalline blue-gray marble. Lower edge of the slab chipped; preserved part cracked transversely halfway up. In upper part, above the inscription, three Maltese crosses arranged symmetrically. Inscription in five lines, rounded letters, 1.5–2.0 cm high; average line spacing 2.5 cm. Dated 6th–7th century, Constantinople, Byzantine Empire 476–1453. Greek inscription; epitaph. Dimensions: height 29.5 cm, width 29.5 cm, depth 2.0 cm., A roughly square, flat slab with an uneven edge, showing a worn, mottled surface in shades of gray, beige, tan, and pale brown; there are subtle darker stains and smudges across the surface, a visible hairline crack running diagonally, and a small patch of reddish color near the crack; the background is a uniform medium gray.
