Festa della Porchetta in Bologna, Collection of festival prints, Mazza, Angelo Michele, d. 1726, Etching, ca. 1716, The print represents a temporary architecture constructed for the festa della Porchetta or feast of the Roast Pig in Bologna. Beyond the square enclosed by galleries and arches, a concave palace is adorned with spiral columns, arcades and balconies. Fowls hang from the branches of trees in an enclosed garden. Two bulls, just let loose, are chased by men on foot holding lances. The insignia of the Gonfaloniere and eight Anziani, the city elders and ruling families, are shown in the upper part of the image
