SIR CHARLES EUAN-SMITH'S MISSION TO THE COURT OF MOROCCO: THE RUINS OF VOLUBILIS, NEAR FEZ; These ruins are about 20 miles from Fez, and consist of the remains of a large Triumphal Arch, the Forum, and quantity of walls. Between the remaining portions of the Forum are seen the town and shrine of Mulai Edris, named after the great Moslem saint, and father of the founder of Fez. No one may live in Milai Edris, which is also called Zarhun, except the descendants of the Saint, and no one but a true believer may enter it, on any pretence., 1892 engraving
