The celebration commemorated the second anniversary of the attempted coup between 15 and 16 July 2016, in which early 250 people died in the coup and approximately 2,200 were wounded. Following the celebration the crowd visited the new monument for the martyrs, donated by the religious Semerkand Foundation (Semerkand Vakfi)
