ARREST OF LOUIS NAPOLEON AT BOULOGNE.—The early 1900s caption reads: “Louis Napoleon, nephew of the great Napoleon and afterward Emperor himself as Napoleon III., made several attempts to master France before he at last succeeded. In 1840 he led an expedition from England and landed at Boulogne. His purpose failed; he fled and was almost drowned, being finally rescued and made prisoner in most unheroic fashion. He accepted his captivity, however, with a quiet dignity which did much to aid him in the minds of Frenchmen.”
