During the pageant on the occasion of "La Bravade" in St-Tropez at the Cote d'Azur the bust of a saint is carried through the town. The celebration takes place in the honor of the patronage saint, Saint Tarpes. The locals are dressed in traditional costumes of the 17th century. Until the 20th century St-Tropez was a small fishing village. In the nineteen fifties the international jet set discovered St-Tropez as a vacation domicile. Nowadays the town is a turbulent meeting point for glamorous visitors from all over the world during summertime. The Cote d'Azur is a part of the southern French coast at the Mediterranean.
