Cul De Lampe, 1907. The dead naked body of Salome is laid in a coffin decorated with roses. She is carried by a black-garbed pierrot with extravagant hair, and a faun-like figure. On the right is an over-sized powder puff. A cul-de-lampe is a typographic ornament marking the end of a section of text.
