Pantheon of the Kings of León, 1862. View of the funeral chapel of the kings of León in the collegiate church of San Isidoro, León, Spain, (founded by Alfonso V), being visited by the king of Spain and Portugal, Philip III (Madrid, 1578-1621), in August 1600. There is a record of a visit by Philip III to the pantheon in January 1602. The Pantheon is one of the examples of surviving Romanesque art in León. The columns are crowned with rare Visigothic capitals. The 12th century painted murals are in an exceptional state of preservation.
