Our Lady of Expectation, 1651. The Virgin kneels while cherubs hold plaques with Latin inscriptions from the Psalms and Isaiah, and God the Father raises his hand in blessing. The Feast of the Expectation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was a Catholic Feast honouring the expectant mother of Jesus.
