Blanca of Navarre, c1885. Queen Blanche (or Blanca) II (1424-1464) was the daughter of John II of Aragon and Navarre and Blanca I. Declared heir to the Kingdom of Navarre, she married Henry IV of Castile. She was confined by her father in the castle of Olite to prevent the surrender of Navarre to Castile. Under duress, she ceded her rights to her sister, Eleanor, Countess of Foix. She died of poisoning during her subsequent imprisonment in the castle of Orthez, France.
