Légende
Infanta Isabella of Bourbon-Saxony, Princess of Naples, 1741. Princess Isabella of Parma (1741-1763) was a princess of Parma and infanta of Spain from the House of Bourbon-Parma as the daughter of Philip, Duke of Parma, and Louise-Élisabeth of France. The portrait was commissioned by the Marquis of Salas, Secretary of State, on the orders of Charles VII of Naples, the future Charles III of Spain. The painting was sent to Spain so that the child's grandparents, Philip V and Elisabeth Farnese, could see their firstborn granddaughter. The portrait shows the infant princess at nine or ten months old, still swaddled, according to the custom of the time.
