Orpheus and Eurydice in the Underworld, 1652. Orpheus lost his wife Eurydice on the day of their wedding. Desolate, the one who was considered the lord of music, even the inventor of the lyre, seduced with his song the lords of the underworld, Pluto and Proserpina, and went down to Hades to rescue his beloved.
