Statue of Sir Francis Bacon, English Lord Chancellor, lawyer, statesman and philosopher, by William Theed, Jr. One of 22 sculptures on the façade of 6 Burlington Gardens, an Italianate Grade II*-listed building in Mayfair, designed by Sir James Pennethorne between 1867 and 1870 as headquarters for the University of London. It is currently used by the Royal Academy of Arts.
