Matthew Noble, c1856. Matthew Noble (1817-1876) was a leading British portrait sculptor. He produced numerous monumental figures and busts memorialising Victorian-era royalty and statesmen, such as Queen Victoria, the Duke of Wellington, Robert Peel, Sir John Franklin and Oliver Cromwell.
